SuperKids SuperHeroes Day

Round 15 of the Tyrepower Manjimup League season brings the latest instalment of the Bridgetown hosted SuperKids SuperHeroes Day, with the Bulldogs set to host Deanmill.

In 2022, we saw the Bulldogs take to the field in Superman inspired kits, while 2023 was the year of Batman. We tried not to make Bridgetown angry in 2024 as the Bulldogs hulked up, and now we get a glimpse of the latest striking new kit for 2025 as they try to weave a web for the visiting Hawks.

Behind the inspired jumpers, there lies a serious side. Superkids Superheroes are a dedicated team of local South West families living in Western Australia, committed to raising funds & awareness for Childhood Cancer through WA Football & Auskick.

Their mission, with the help of WA Football, is to have all Auskick clubs throughout Australia participate in Superkids Superheroes round. This round takes place annually in May, raising vital funds & awareness for childhood cancer.

They encourage all Auskick centres, players, coaches, mentors, parents & siblings to don a Superhero costume & engage in fun football skills & activities for the round. Raising money along the way for children diagnosed with cancer.

All monies raised goes to The Kids Cancer Project (TKCP). TKCP is an Australia based foundation that funds research into clinical trials for all childhood cancers. Their aim and ours is to have better treatments & survival rates for all children going through cancer treatment.
SKSH round was formed in dedication of Declan Kane who was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma at age 8 years. SKSH was formed by Declan’s parents Simon & Kim Kane.

The cause is close to the hearts of the Bridgetown Football Club, with Simon and Kim locals, and Simon a former Bulldog himself. Over the last 3 years, the club has helped raise over $150,000 to the foundation. It’s a massive achievement for a small town and football community, and once again highlights the value of football clubs in their communities and what can be achieved when we rally together.

This Saturday will see a day of football, fun and fundraising for the Kids’ Cancer Project. Facepainting, sandpit and more fun activities will be available for the whole family throughout the day, before DJ Dave is handed the controls. The 2025 special edition jumpers will be auctioned off after the League game and aside from helping a very special cause, look the goods and will make a great collectable for any footy fan!

The footy kicks off at 9am with junior action, before the Colts take centre stage at 10.40am, the Reserves at 12.30pm and the League SuperHeroes at 2pm.

The 2023 edition of SuperKids SuperHeroes, thankfully in a bit more sunshine that we’ve got forecast for this Saturday, and complete with some not so SuperHero jumper tucking at the front. Anything for a smile on SuperKids SuperHeroes Day.
