Great Southern Colts Carnival LSWFL Squad

The squad has landed for the Lower South West Football League, as they gear up to attend the Great Southern Colts Carnival in Kulin.

Aaron Watson and his assistants have selected a squad containing some of the best young talent in the region, with the side to be led by Bridgetown’s Max Wilson and Deanmill’s Bodee Reeve, pictured above from their Round 2 clash.

The 2025 team contains plenty of experience who attended the carnival in 2024, headed by Wilson. Also amongst the returning crop are Sam Doherty, Kai McGinty, Josh Seroka, James Johnston, Jed Edwards and Hamish Omodei.

With Omodei and Edwards joined in the squad by Southerners’ Tyson Jacob, the side is sure to have a powerful aerial presence, while Tayten Smith is a fascinating inclusion. Smith has had a fantastic start to life at Souths, already a strong contributor in their impressive start to the Tyrepower Manjimup League season.

Another feature of the squad, is the youth coming through from Kojonup. Without a Colts side in weekly club competition, five Cougars have been named for the carnival. With the Cougars a tough league team to break into, the likes of Angus Gray and Charlie Whitehead have done well to earn senior selection in the early part of the season.

On the sidelines, Watson will be joined by a pair of assistants, John McGinty and Josh Rayson, while Tristan Mead and Jeff Bennett will attend as umpires from the region, taking part as field and goal umpires respectively.

The Lower South West will commence their campaign with a clash against Esperance at 10.25am, before returning to action at 1.15pm against the Great Southern Storm. The Saturday pool games will be finalised with a 4.05pm clash against Ongerup, before a playoff match on the Sunday based on ladder position.
